1. Who we are
Clariqo is a personal budgeting app and website focused on helping users see their real spendable money while keeping their financial data private and local wherever possible.
This privacy policy applies to the Clariqo website and related communications. It does not replace professional legal advice, but it is intended to explain clearly what data is collected, why it is collected, and how it is handled.
2. What the Clariqo app stores
Clariqo is designed so your budgeting data is stored locally on your own device rather than being synced to Clariqo-controlled cloud storage.
- Your budgets, transactions, savings, investment entries, reminders, and similar financial records are intended to remain on your device.
- If you export or back up your data, those files are controlled by you.
- Clariqo does not claim ownership of the budgeting data you create inside the app.
3. What this website may collect
When you use the Clariqo website, the following types of information may be processed:
- Basic technical information such as browser type, device information, language settings, and pages visited.
- Information you choose to submit through contact or support forms, such as your name, email address, and message content.
- Cookie or local storage preferences used to remember website choices, such as cookie acceptance.
4. Cookies and local storage
This website may use cookies or similar storage technologies to remember preferences, support site functionality, and improve the browsing experience. The UK ICO explains that websites should tell people when cookies are used, explain what they do, and get consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary.
A cookie or local storage item may be used to remember whether you accepted the cookie notice on this site. Cookies are small files stored on your device that can remember preferences or other website information.
If optional analytics, marketing tools, or similar technologies are added in future, this page should be updated and appropriate consent should be obtained before those tools are used. The ICO says consent for non-essential cookies must be actively and clearly given.
5. Payments
Premium purchases are processed through Lemon Squeezy and Stripe. Clariqo does not need to directly store your card details in order for those providers to process payment.
If you make a purchase, payment-related details may be processed by Lemon Squeezy and Stripe under their own privacy and security practices. You should review their policies if you want detailed information about how they handle payment data.
6. Why personal data may be used
- To provide and maintain the website.
- To respond to support, contact, or business enquiries.
- To process purchases and provide access to premium features.
- To maintain website security and prevent abuse.
- To remember consent choices or other site preferences.
7. How long information is kept
Contact or support emails may be kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep records of support history, meet legal obligations, or protect against disputes.
Website preference data such as cookie acceptance may remain stored in your browser until it expires or you clear your browser storage.
The ICO says privacy notices should explain why data is used, how long it is kept, and who it is shared with.
8. Sharing information
Information may be shared only where necessary, for example:
- with payment providers such as Lemon Squeezy or Stripe for purchases;
- with email or form providers when you send a support or contact request;
- where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request.
Clariqo does not sell your personal information.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and withdrawal of consent where consent is relied on. The ICO says privacy notices should explain people’s rights and how they can complain if they have concerns.
To make a privacy-related request, contact: contact@clariqoapp.com
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, the app, payment systems, cookies, or legal requirements. The ICO recommends privacy notices are reviewed regularly and kept up to date.
